Helsinki Airport is trialling yoga and pilates at the departure gates as part of a spate of new airport services tests.
Finavia, the airport’s operator, is testing airport yoga, a coffee-vending bicycle, information screens on airport buses, stickers guiding children to play areas and a summertime festival.
The prototype that was most successful was the festival, with travellers taking part in super food tastings, flower garland workshops, and Midsummer dancing.
Travellers could also participate in yoga and pilates at the gates, in classes or independently, with Korean, Chinese and Japanese travellers most interested in these activities.
New prototype activities and further trials of yoga will continue this month.
