We’re not saying you should get up on your swivel chair and emit a series of lion’s breaths while standing in tree pose. That would be a wee bit distracting for your colleagues (and probably way too unsafe).
But on days when you’re feeling tense, tired or just plain out of it, a few yogic stretches that can be done in the office can help wake you up and relieve the tensions from sitting all day. Some of the moves in the infographic above are inconspicuous: A wrist release practice can soothe the pain of years of typing, and those around you will hardly even notice. Performing a cat stretch, on the other hand, is a bit more involved, but if you can get your co-workers on board, you’ll all be better for it.
Don’t put your stress relief off for a moment longer! Go through the poses above and then pick a few that’ll to do you right throughout the day. Set a calendar alert and when it sounds, it’s time to stretch. You and your work will be better for it.
