Even though the ELLE office may always be buzzing with relentless magazine deadlines, we remain committed to staying fit and healthy. But sometimes time runs away with us, and we wish the exercise routine would just come to us! Cue The Om Revolution mobile yoga studio. This week, we began day one of our office yoga classes with instructor Victoria Csarmann.
The hour-long session began at 5:00pm and was a basic introduction to vinyasa yoga. Victoria took us through the breathing techniques and how to move from one pose to another as you inhale and exhale. Patient and relaxed, she was the perfect anecdote for stress relief – she taught us how to regain our posture after being slumped at a desk all day, and helped us tune-in to our breathing and take back some inner strength.
We did three series of physical movements and stretching called Phalahnk asana, Chaturanga asana, and Adho Mukha Svanasana. Each one required a lot of focus and helped with muscle relaxation and flexibility. Victoria was calm, helpful and made me feel really comfortable, I was able to relax my mind and connect with my body for a solid hour, without the mental train of ‘to-dos’ plaguing me.
The Om Revolution mobile yoga studio aims to make meditation and exercise more accessible to everyone. As their slogan says “we bring yoga to you”. And, by bringing yoga into the convenience of your home or office, there’s no excuse anymore for being too busy or not having time.
